The Bible encourages Christians on the way to overcome certain periods while passing through the earth’s journey, given us assurance of the possibility to those things that necessitate the stages of life in which one must pass through saying. “Blessed is the man that endured temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him”. Jam.1:12. According to this writing: it is a time of trial and temptation which everyone is expected to overcome in life, that determine the levels of faith and perseverance one has in God, which give the standard of good stewardship when one has finally overcome the trial period.

Adam went through such periods in the Garden of Eden when God bestowed a beautiful Garden unto himto dress it and to keep it”. Gen: 2:15. Let us assume that someone was entrusted with the responsibility to take care of a particular thing, is it supposed to lead him into trial? On the other hand, what would temptations or trial have to do with this issue? Why was Adam face with such in the Garden of Eden? “And God said of every tree of the garden thou may freely eat: But of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, thou shall not eat of it”. Verse: 16-17a.

Let us examine this column very well, that he was put in a Garden with nourishing food and beautiful things without withhold anything from him, except one particular tree out of others which seemed dangerous for food? It should not have been difficult for Adam to keep away from such tree but being a trial period, he fell down for such trial and it overpowered him. Sometimes, I notice that people out of ignorance asked why would God plant such tree inside the garden in the first place, since He knew that for in the day thou eat thereof thou shall surely die?” Gen.2:17b.

An answer to such question is not too far from here” And I ask? ‘’Why do parents allow their little kids to attend school activities as teenagers? Most especially in the time of winter, or when they had become adults and gain admission into higher institution where cult activities are most rampant across campuses? Yet, through all these risk and unsafe condition they still allow their children to pursue their career in the schools’’? Just as God expected Adam to defend his career and pass through the trial stage and become matured as a real man who is made in the image of God.

Likewise, you and I are expected to be steadfast and defend our ability in faith toward God of possibility. Many people lack understanding that man is God’s resemblance, seen that we copy all things we do from God our maker. For example, where comes about education? Or when educationalist wasn’t in existence; does it mean men of those ages didn’t train their children on farming, hunting, fishing, or trading in those days? They did and were all perfect in those things without western education knowledge then. Where do men of old learn all these things from?

Come to the period of temptation and trial, it enables one to determine on one’s opinion, either to obey or to disobey God’s word. Deut.11:26-28. Adam disobeyed God’s commandment and that led to his total separation from God, and he later died for it. Gen.5:5. Nevertheless, the Lord Jesus obeyed His Father even unto death on the cross, that when He died, He arose from the dead at the third day and lives forever more. Amen. Luke.24:1-8, Phil.2:5-11, Rev. 1:18.

Prophet Daniel did not hesitate when enlightening his men in the land of Babylon, charging them not to mind the kind of hardship they are going through at the turbulent periods ahead of them in the land, as it is written. “Some of them of understanding shall fall to try them, and to purge, and to make them white, even to the time of end: because it is yet for a time appointed”. Dan.11:35. Our Lord Jesus is the one and only example among men, even when the Jews had conspired to kill Him and saw His death as reality; He did not give up to discouragement as some use to murmur and withdraw from the hour of trial. He called upon His Father and said,’my father, if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless, not as I will: But as thou will. Matt. 26:39.

Men ought to understand that such an hour is a must for every human, but it comes in different forms, one person’s trials is different from another. God spoke to Abraham things that shall happen to his descendants even when Isaac has not been born into his family. “And he said unto Abraham, know of a surety that thy seed shall be a stranger in a land that is not theirs, and shall serve them; and they shall afflict them four hundred years’ Gen.15:13.

Are such trial periods not looking so difficult to believe? ‘’For unborn descendants  of a man to go to unknown nation and suffer there without committing any sin, or did any wrong to the nation, or has offended the people ever before the time was accomplished. Neither has their father done any wrong to anyone that would make them deserve such cruel treatments and affliction. But God allowed the period as turbulent times which they must pass through on earth before entering to the Promised Land.

God remain unchangeable who cannot withdraw from whatever He has purposed in His heart, or from those words that He has spoken. The Bible noted that, “Now the sojourning of Israel, who dwelt in Egypt, was four hundred and thirty years. And it came to pass at the end of four hundred and thirty years, even the self-same day it came to pass, that all the host of the LORD went out from the land of Egypt”. Exo.12:40-41.

Humanly speaking, one may wonder why the Israelite would not be blessed in the land of Egypt in which they reside. Or why should Jacob carry his children to Egypt in the first place since the land they reside is a promised land already? Gen.46:1-27. Yet they departed from Canaan land to Egypt and latter come back to Canaan land; for what reason? What is this for? Nevertheless, God has answer for their mysterious journey; for He said. “But in the fourth generation they shall come hither again: for the iniquity of the Amorites is not yet full”. Gen.15:16.

This is great and ought to be a lesson for all that shall read this book; give attention and allow it to make good meaning in your life. Seeing the reason why God allowed one to pass through some trials and temptations period at a particular time here on earth as a must, seeing it as a thing that will make a way of exchange for periodical danger ahead in future.

There was a certain man in those days and the plot against him from the evil one was to kidnap him and use him for ritual purpose at a fixed date and time; but unfortunately, before the day approached, he was stricken down with madness from an unknown source until the plot ahead him expired. Since no one uses mad man for ritual, then another person was kidnap in the replacement of him and was used for the purposed, and the insane man was restored back to sanity later. This is how God does his wondrous works at times. ‘’Behold, happy is the man whom God corrected, therefore despise not thou the chastening of the almighty’’. Job.5:17.

Daniel always got delivered from every plot planned against him in the province of Babylon, but ever before the days of his trials commenced, the Bible gave evidence of what he proposed in his heart saying. ‘’But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself with the portion of the king’s meat or with wine which he drank’’. Dan.1:8. Daniel acknowledge the trial period that is coming ahead of them in Babylon, being one of the captive in the land; he gets ready to withstand any challenges that may come his way with strong determination and discipline to face it squarely. He was determined not to be carried away with covetousness in the palace of king Nebuchadnezzar. Daniel. 1:1-8.

Believers are expected to examine what the turbulent period stands for. It is time for promotion, just like without one writing examinations in any course, he/she cannot be promoted to any higher level in the course without passing examination.. Lord Jesus frankly spoke on this fact that, ‘’if any man will come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross, and follow me’’. Matt.16:24. Turbulent period is similar to the cross which our Lord Jesus is talking about.

The fact remain that whoever want to benefit from the Lord is expected to be steadfast in the day of trial, difficulty, persecution, distress, tribulation, and count on them as things that they must pass through to final success. No man passes through short cut for one reason or the other that shall receive any good thing from the Lord, except one steadfast and holding on to the faith. James.1:5-8. The disciples were seventy +’ at the initial stage, Luke.1:10. Twelve were ordained as Apostles, from whom many among the rest disciples departed and stopped following the Lord. John.6:66-67. This was because the Jews were persecuting them and this led many to withdraw from following the Lord.

Lord Jesus therefore asked the remaining twelve and said to them. “Will you also go away? Peter replied and said to Him, ‘Lord, to whom shall we go to? Thou have the words of eternal life: And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the Living God’ ’John 6:67-69. Meanwhile these twelve apostles were steadfast and followed the Lord anywhere He went, they did not backslide by the reason of any intimidation of the persecutors, but followed Him steadfastly to the end. This made the Lord utters the commandment of their enthronement in return for the reward of their steadfastness and good stewardship saying: ’But you are those who have continued with me in my trials. And I bestow upon you a kingdom just as my Father bestowed one upon me, that you may eat and drink at my table in my kingdom, and sit on throne judging the twelve tribes of Israel’ Luke. 22 28-30.

For instance, if an under graduate in any higher institution went and boycott lecture and ran away because of high activities of occultism that took over the entire campus? What will it amount as reward for such action on the day of graduation? Think about that! Do not accept defeat by dropping from the faith as a child of God. Do not because of trial and tribulations change direction to follow the way of evil men. Lord Jesus had assured all believers saying: “For the Son of man shall come in the glory of His Father with His angels: then He shall reward every man according to his works’’. Matt 16:27. What good work does He expect from all that believe in Him? ‘’But whosoever shall deny me before men, him will I also deny before my Father who is in heaven’’. Matt.10:22-23.

To deny Christ is to withdraw from righteousness and holy living when things look difficult at the trial periods. When the storm of life is raging against someone greatly, you are expected to be steadfast without compromising your faith at this particular hour and cease from double mindedness as the custom of others; not as Judas Iscariot who secretly went to the chief Priest, commune with them and sold the Lord for money exchange because he needed cash. Matt 26:14-16.

Majority of Christian have not understood the clue behind Judas Iscariot conspiracy against our Lord Jesus; they thought it was written of him as he who should betray Jesus Christ. Was Judas Iscariot’s name mentioned in the prophets of old as one who will betray the Lord? Just an unknown person was specified in the Bible. Ps. 41:9, Obadiah: 7, John.13:18, the Bible did not specify a person’s name per ’say; it could be anybody: Therefore, the Bible point out reasons why Judas Iscariot got involved in the very act saying. ‘But one of His disciples, Judas Iscariot, Simon’s son, who would betray Him, said. Why was this fragrant oil not sold for three hundred denarii and given to the poor? This he said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the box; and he used to take what was put in it. John.12:4-6.

Judas Iscariot was an unrepentant thief, even when he had an encounter with the Lord Jesus yet he refused to repent and be born again that he may change from fraudulent ideas which led him to stealing by trick. Many Christians are like that till today, they live covetous lives before given their life to Christ and yet remain unrepentant still: what would such people expect rather than what had happened to Judas Iscariot to happen to them at the later end, if they refuse to amend their ways now. It was unfortunate that Judas Iscariot later repented, but it was too late for him; rather he went and hanged himself. Matt.27:3-5.

These things were recorded down in the Bible for men to learn from. The preaching of heavenly kingdom is more than material things, which led many people to greed with all sorts of iniquities according to how the Bible disclosed the fact “For the kingdom of God are not eating and drinking, but righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Ghost”. Rom.14:17.

This Bible verse indicates that everything in heavenly kingdom is supernatural and greater things than this present age materialism; they are everlasting things. Not as these present things of the world that are temporary which will decay and get rust within a few years. One ought to be encouraged and be steadfast. Hold on to the promise of eternal glory according to our Lord Jesus’ words of encouragement;

“Do not fear any of those things which you are about to suffer, indeed, the devil is about to throw some of you into prison, that you may be tested, and you will have tribulation ten days, be faithful until death, and I will give you the crown of life”. Rev.2:10.

Crown of life in what sense? The crown that faded not away, neither will anybody inherit it from his predecessors. Whoever shall become a crown holder in heavenly kingdom will forever have it: not as the rotational type of this world’s crown which one king must be dethroned, or die before another ascends to the throne: this had made one kingdom belong to many kings and his queens in a particular lineage. God’s kingdom ruling is to them that shall be worthy of an everlasting crown, because it is forever, since no one dies in the heavenly kingdom, but all shall live with God forever and ever, Amen. Luke.20:35-36.

The crown of life is waiting for whosoever that shall hearken to God’s words and steadfast in faith of the Son of God (Jesus Christ) which is the same yesterday, today, and forever more. (Amen) Isa.19:6-17, Dan.2:44, Luke.1:31-35, Colo.1:17-18, Rev.1:18.
